WEST HOLLYWOOD — The West Hollywood location of Ian Schrager’s EDITION hotels will debut next month as the brand’s first outpost on the West Coast. With interiors by iconic London-based architect John Pawson, the 190-room hotel recalls the cultural revolutions of the 1960s, ’70s, and ’80s by employing dramatic proportions and rich materials

The three-story lobby is punctuated by bold elements like oversized doors, lush foliage made of indigenous Californian plants, and Italian travertine. A mobile installation from locally based artist Sterling Ruby conveys the grittiness and diversity of the Sunset Strip, while an outdoor courtyard and bar serve as all-day social hubs.

“We aspire to be the best hotel in California, that has always been our approach. With architecture, design, entertainment, and service, we try to offer something that people have never experienced before,” says Schrager. “I was lucky enough to be part of West Hollywood’s second cultural rebirth, and now with a whole new wave of hotels, apartments, and restaurants, I’m happy to be part of its third renaissance, recapturing Sunset Boulevard’s magic and immortalizing it with that same ethos.”

Guestrooms are crafted with a soothing and sophisticated neutral palette expressed via elements like Siberian Larch wood and natural light infused through floor-to-ceiling sliding screens.

Spearheaded by the Michelin-starred chef John Fraser, signature restaurant Ardor showcases a greenery-filled garden set against a rich wood interior.

Additional amenities include a 2,077-square-foot fitness center, a 4,500-square-foot spa concept with six treatment rooms, in addition to a rooftop that is home to a swimming pool and landscaped terrace…
